Andrew Laufers has over 25 years of experience practicing law in Minnesota and Wisconsin. After obtaining an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota – Morris, he then went on to attend law school at Hamline School of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law).
After graduation, he opened his first solo law firm in rural Madison, Minnesota, where he succesfully practiced for five years. Heading back to the Twin Cities metro area, he successfully practiced for the next 20 years in mid-size and large national firms. During this time, he was recommended by peers and recognized in 2011 as a Minnesota Rising Star in family law practice area by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters rating service of outstanding lawyers. He has won awards for client service and overall high achievement. He has also enjoyed teaching classes on appeals and other legal topics to his peers, as well as doing informational podcasts for the general client market. As an expert in appeals, he has had the opportunity to bring a family law case before the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Over the years, he has given back to his community through organizations including Lions International and Prior Lake Rotary, where he serves on the Equity and Inclusion Committee. He serves on the Adult Guardian ad Litem Panel for Hennepin and Ramsey counties. He also has done pro bono work through the “Wheels of Justice” Mobile Law Unit through Mitchell Hamline Law school, supervising law students.
Mr. Laufers is married to Naomi, who oversees the administrative side of Laufers Legal Services. He is the step dad to two amazing boys who keep them busy! They can be found at a lot of sporting events! They are big University of Minnesota Gopher fans as their older son, Martin Owusu, is committed to play football for the Gophers starting in 2023 as a defensive lineman. Their younger son, JoJo, is the worlds biggest superfan. He has a rare form of Epilepsy called LGS that he battles, but it doesn’t slow him down!
